2020 brought everything to a standstill. Out of the many fields, education was one severely affected by the pandemic too. For a brief moment, it is no secret that the strict pandemic rules and norms made it seem impossible for any industry/field to thrive.
However, with technological advancement, many fields especially, education, did find its way through.
Students and Parents desperately looking for high education opportunities with the best of schools or educational institutions could finally do so. Now, Physical interactions stopped, and Virtual meets saw the green light.
People began to do things virtually while education fair organizers thought NO different.
During the peak period, thousands of students in Malaysia chose the best career options and received the best career guidance virtually.
The Post Graduation Education Fair (PGEF) brought them this opportunity with ibentos virtual education fair platform.
ibentos Virtual platform facilitated the Post Graduation Education Fair (PGEF) in 2020 which is known to be one of the biggest activities in Kuala Lumpur and attracts over 30,000 fresh graduates, students, Universities to join every year.
The PGEF is also Southeast Asia’s longest organized postgraduate education fair.
ibentos enabled PGEF to bring aspiring students and educational institutions together on ONE virtual platform in a virtual exhibition format. Student attendees interacted with representatives from universities across the world to take correct career choices.
Here is how ibentos Virtual Education Fair platform executed PGEF,
- 10+ webinars were LIVE streamed on the Virtual Education Fair platform for the student attendees. Topics such as Career guidance, what is best during the pandemic from noted speakers were a part of webinar discussions.
- Additionally, sessions conducted by eminent speakers on “How will Higher Education evolve with the New Normal”, “Managing PG studies amidst a Pandemic” were LIVE streamed on Facebook & other social media channels.

- Students and University representatives interacted seamlessly with each other. All universities were provided with their individual booths. Here, students clicked on Virtual booths to interact one-on-one through WhatsApp Chat, Voice call or a video call.
- These Exhibitor/University booths had their branding, brochures and a few quick facts and the courses they offered. In a nutshell, these Virtual Booths contained all the information that a student needed to know about a university.
- Courses varying from Law to Liberal Arts to Hotel Management or Pharmacy & research were available.
- Intending to incorporate the fun and interactive elements in mind, ibentos added Gamification for PGEF students. This allowed the PGEF students to remain hooked to the fair and exciting prizes. ibentos designed a leaderboard for the attendees participating in the contest. These increased the credibility of the game and the motivation of ones participating in it. Students earned “UNICORN badges” to win exclusive prizes.
